This Four Grain Won World Whiskey Of The Year, And Now You Can Pick It Up On ‘Last Call’

Buffalo Trace is releasing its award-winning E. H. Taylor, Jr. Four Grain Bourbon Whiskey on “last call,” and any serious collector should take note. This bourbon’s inaugural release, from 2017, was named World Whiskey of the Year in 2018 by Jim Murray’s Whiskey Bible, so the second and final coming should be quite something.

The E. H. Taylor, Jr. Four Grain Bourbon has been described as possessing a chocolate roast malt, flash of spice, undertones of ulmo honey, and notes of Manuka honey and licorice. In other words, “a slow, lightly oiled, gently spiced chocolate fade, which goes on and on.”

Sounds like something worth hunting for — and rest assured, it will be hard to find. Named after Buffalo Trace’s founder, Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr., these bottles are going up for sale at just $69.99 per 750ml. They should not be hard to spot either, thanks to a distinct canister design modeled after the ones Taylor used in the distillery’s early days.

Keep an eye out for them this spring at a liquor store near you.
